Tyson Fury must face Deontay Wilder by September 15th

The arbitration court has ruled that Tyson Fury must face Deontay Wilder by September this year after Wilder successfully won his case. This now leaves the much anticipated undisputed heavyweight showdown between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua in doubt.

Tyson Fury beat Wilder back in February 2020 to win the WBC Heavyweight title and was contracted to fight Wilder for a third time in July 2020 but due to the global pandemic it was pushed back to December but the pair could not agree terms so Fury decided to move on.

Anthony Joshua and Fury have agreed to a mega fight in Saudi Arabia on August 14th with an official announcement imminent but this news will throw the fight in to major doubt with it being just a month before the September deadline. Wilder could be offered step aside money so the undisputed fight ca go ahead but it is unlikely he would accept unless it is a extraordinary amount.
