Jack Hutsby survives first round knockdown to remain unbeaten
Super middleweight prospect Jack Hutsby recovered from a first round shock knockdown to come from behind to beat Jordan Grannum (6-86-3).
Grannam started the bout as the away corner but opened up with with two good shots in the opening 20 seconds, Hutsby's leading jab started off his work during the fight, though many landing on the gloves of Grannam.
Grannam landed a check left hook to the temple of Hutsby sending him down for the first time in his career. Jack responded with a flurry of shots but lacked the power to trouble Grannam.
Hutsby knew he had to win the remaining three rounds of the fight to stand a chance of victory, a couple of good flurries from Hutsby in the second and a pinpoint right hand that landed on the chin of Grannam won him the second round.
An aggressive start to the third for Hutsby, a left hook from the Derbyshire man unsteadied Grannam momentarily. A low blow from the bloodied Hutsby slowed the contest in the third.
Triple jabs from Hutsby set the tone for the fourth and final round, seeking the stoppage fearing an unwanted defeat. A roar from Hutsby's vocal fan base pushed him on to take the final round and secure a crucial 38-37 points win.
'It was a good learning experience, i'm going to watch the fight back, see where i went wrong and try to improve.' Said Hutsby.
'We're going to try and get the vacant (English) title, I want to stick at my level and work my way up'
