Richard Riakporhe vs Deion Jumah Preview

Richard Riakporhe (13-0) takes on late replacement Deion Jumah (14-0) at the OVO Wembley Arena this Saturday night as he plots his path to a potential world title shot later in the year. South London vs West London, undefeated vs undefeated, someones 0 has to go.

Rising cruiserweight star Richard Riakporhe blasted through Olenrewaju Durodola in 5 rounds in November at the very same arena. The 6' 5" Londoner was scheduled to fight the Italian Fabio Turchi in the headline bout however Turchi pulled out due to sustaining an injury and will now fight the undefeated Deion Jumah in the main event.

Riakporhe has been gaining momentum since his ring return last year. He secured two wins at the back end of 2021 with a one sided points decision over Krzysztof Twardowski and a brilliant stoppage victory over Durodola a month later. A win here for Riakporhe could set him up for a world title shot this year.

“The Midnight Train is on a roll and I’m not letting anything stop me in my tracks. I’m pulling into Wembley Arena once again on March 26 and I’m coming with all the smoke. This one is going to be a treat for the fans,” said Riakporhe.

Deion Jumah has flown under the radar in the Cruiserweight division accumulating 14 straight wins with 7 of those victories coming by way of knockout. Stand out wins against Wadi Camacho and Sam Hyde bolsters his record and adds his name to the thriving domestic scene currently in the country.

“I'd actually been watching Riakporhe online a couple of weeks ago. We have all the tools needed to pick Richard apart and stop him - and this is what’s happening on the 26th. I've seen loads of weaknesses in him and loads of flaws.” said Jumah.

Dan Azeez will defend his light-heavyweight British title against Matthew Tucker on the undercard. Azeez won the title win an impressive stoppage over Hosea Burton in November. Harry Scarff and Louis Greene battle for the vacant English welterweight title over 10 rounds.
