Weekend Betting Preview & Tips

This weekend we have three major TV cards, one in the US in the form of Shakur Stevenson vs Robson Conceciao, whilst in the UK Joe Joyce vs Joseph Parker headlines at the Manchester Arena and Maxi Hughes vs Kid Galahad tops the Nottingham bill.

Kid Galahad suffered a shock defeat to Kiko Martinez last year and has now moved up two weight divisions to challenge Maxi Hughes for his IBO Lightweight title. Galahad has always been tight on the weight at featherweight as seen at previous weigh-ins where he can barely stand being that dehydrated. He also carries a brilliant boxing brain and iq which is why I'm leaning towards a one sided victory for Galahad.

Kid Galahad - Points 6/4

Another fighter stepping up weights is Terri Harper. She jumps up three weights from Lightweight to Super Welterweight to challenge Hannah Rankin for the IBO & WBA World titles in Nottingham.

Its a huge ask for Harper, the Yorkshire fighter is piling on 20 pounds to face Rankin who has previously campaigned at middleweight. I believe Harper will tire late on and either succumb to a stoppage loss or a points decision.

Hannah Rankin - Points 5/1

Shakur Stevenson defends his Super Featherweight world titles against Robson Conceicao in Newark on Saturday night. It's no secret the ability of Shakur and he will look to extend his unbeaten record to 19 wins and no defeats. I don't believe Conceicao will cause many problems for Shakur in this fight. I'm picking a points decision for Stevenson.

Shakur Stevenson - Points 1/2
