Deontay Wilder vs Robert Helenius Preview, PPV Info, Live Stream & Start Time

Former World heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder makes his return to the ring this Saturday night to fight Scandinavian giant Robert Helenius in New York's Barclays Center.

'The Bronze Bomber' has been absent from the ring for exactly a year since Tyson fury stopped him emphatically in the eleventh round of their trilogy fight.

Rumours circulated that Wilder could have retired after his second career defeat but the American regained motivation for the sport and embarked on his comeback and faces Robert Helenius in his first hurdle towards a second world title.

Helenius produced two impressive victories over the highly rated Adam Kownacki in his two previous fights. Kownacki was previously unbeaten prior to fighting Helenius and was touted to be a top heavyweight contender.

'The Nordic Nightmare' has amassed an array of experience in the professional ranks, at 38 years of age he has accumulated a total of 31 wins with just 3 defeats in his career coming against Gerald Washington, Dillian Whyte and Johann Duhaupas. 

Helenius will prove to be a tough competitor for Wilder on his return and if the 'Bronze Bomber' can secure a victory it'll show his true intent on his return to the division.

Deontay Wilder steps straight back in with an experienced contender and the WBC have made this an eliminator for the WBC title and the winner will go on to face Andy Ruiz Jr in a final eliminator for Tyson Furys World title.

"I thought so many times about whether I should stay out of the business or come back." said Wilder

"Once I got my statue in my hometown and saw so many people arrive and celebrate with me and my family, to see all the emotions, grown men crying in front of their children and saying he is a real true king, made me feel like my job is not done. Fight fans will also be treated to an excellent undercard featuring Caleb Plant, Frank Sanchez and Gary Antonio Russell who all feature.

The fight can be streamed live and exclusive in the UK on FITE TV and the event will start at 2am. The event will be priced at £12.99.

Fox Sports PPV will show the event in the US with $74.99 being the price point.
