Exclusive interview with Nick Webb

Heavyweight contender Nick Webb is coming off a career best victory over the previously undefeated Erik Pfeifer on the undercard of Povetkin v Whyte in Gibraltar.

Nick upset the odds in the heavyweight bout against the Frenchman with Pfeifer coming in strong favourite but failed to live up to the expectation of his record. Webb knocked Pfeifer down 3 times on his way to a second round TKO victory.

A Fourth win in a row for Webb since his defeat to Kamil Sokolowski , a good run of run which has seen the Brit make his return to a Matchroom show , his last previous Matchroom show was his defeat to Dave Allen on the Whyte v Parker undercard at the O2 arena.

We asked Nick a few questions following his recent victory

Question ; First of all , how are you ? Its been a couple days since your win over Erik Pfeifer , do you think that win will give you more opportunities in the heavyweight division at a higher level?

Answer ; 'I'm very good mate . still buzzing. Yes I think it will give me more opportunities.'

Question ; Looking back at the fight , were you expecting a lot more from Pfeifer seeing as he was the pre fight favourite and unbeaten prior to meeting you in the ring?

Answer ; 'Yes I was expecting him to throw more punches than he did , watching him in previous fights he was very busy.'

Question ; What's next for you? We know you've previously wanted to fight Daniel Dubois , is that a fight you would be interested in at this time if not Dubois anyone else?

Answer ; 'Because its still so soon after the fight I've not yet had chance to think what's next. But I'm going to sit down with the team by the end of the week and make a plan.'

Question ; What was the whole experience like out in Gibraltar for the event, entering the bubble and all that comes with it . Was it a big change to fight week prior to Covid?

Answer ; 'The whole experience was amazing , especially because I've not been anywhere all year because of Covid it was so interesting. The place was amazing and got really looked after. There was a small crowd so made the atmosphere still great. It was my best boxing experience to date.'

Question ; Is there any pre fight traditions you do to get you pumped up before a fight ?

Answer ; 'I always give myself a good talking to in the mirror'
