Conor Benn vs Adrian Granados Fight Camp Week 1 Preview
Conor Benn returns this Saturday after his emphatic win over Samuel Vargas in April to fight Adrian Granados on Matchroom's first card since they moved exclusively to Dazn.
Benn comes into this fight with an impressive record of eighteen wins with no defeat to date , with notable wins over Sebastian Formella and Samuel Vargas and is now at the stage of his career where he is consistently headlining shows and has been often referred to as a 'future PPV star'.
For Benn a World Title shot is likely from 2022 onwards if he keeps winning, so its imperative he continuously fights tougher and more experienced opposition in order for him to be prepared for any test that comes his way.
Also on the card Nottingham's Leigh Wood attempts to snatch the WBA World Title away from the Chinese 'Monster' Can Xu, a fight that shocked a lot of Boxing fans as it seemed to come out of nowhere. Can Xu was frequently linked with a unification bout with Josh Warrington until Josh vacated the title last year. Wood has been in action as recently as February this year with a win over Reece Mould to capture the British Title, however Can Xu has been inactive since November 2019.
In another intriguing fight , the EBU , Commonwealth and the British Cruiserweight titles are all on the line when Northern Ireland's Tommy McCarthy collides with Bournemouth's Chris Billam-Smith. British and Commonwealth titles rarely fail to deliver and this has all the ingredients to steal the show.
Anthony Fowler is facing a late opponent change as Roberto Garcia pulled out of this fight due to an injury. His new opponent , Germanys Rico Mueller , his record stands at 28 wins, 3 defeats and just 1 draw. Notably he has gone the distance with Jeremias Ponce and lost to Jeff Horn in the ninth. 'The Machine' Anthony Fowler will be hoping to come through this fight with no complications as he could potentially have a big fight lined up in his home city of Liverpool in October.
Probably the most surprising fight on the card , Jack Cullen comes up against Anvi Yildirim who most recently lost to the biggest star in Boxing Canelo Alvarez , from 60,000 fans in Dallas to Eddie Hearns back garden in just a few months. Cullen most recently scored and impressive victory over John Docherty and now will be looking to seize this massive oppurtunity.
Campbell Hatton will make his ringwalk for the third time as a professional coming up against Jakub Laskowski in a 4 round bout. Sandy Ryan is making her professional debut at Fight Camp , her opponent Kirstie Bavington.fightzone.uk/signup
