Sam Eggington vs Bilel Jkitou preview

Boxing once again descends on Coventry this Friday night as Sam Eggington defends his WBC Middleweight title against Frances Bilel Jkitou at the Skydome arena.

Britain's Sam Eggington won the WBC Silver belt in May against tough Mexican and now headlines against unbeaten Frenchman Jkitou.

Fan favourite Sam Eggington has amassed great ring experience over the years during his entertaining career beating the likes of Paulie Malignaggi , Frankie Gavin and Carlos Molina. He also shared the ring with Liam Smith, Ted Cheeseman and Bradley Skeete however all these bouts have ended in defeat.

'The Savage' recently signed a promotional deal with Mick Hennessy and will now be a headline fighter on terrestrial tv that in previous shows has brought in huge numbers.

Last time out Eggington beat former World title challenger Carlos Molina over 12 rounds to claim the WBC Silver title.

Mick Hennessy will showcase his stable of talent this Friday in Coventry with all his exciting prospects back out in Action.

Big ticket seller and Coventry fan River Wilson-Bent will fight in his home venue once again and shares the ring with Bosnian Sladan Janjanin. The pair have been exchanging words over social media during the weeks leading up the fight, with Janjanin claiming he is coming to knockout the home fighter whilst Wilson-Bent states that he will be walking in to the lions den filled with Rivers faithful fans.

River is coming off a career best victory over Derby's George Farrell in May in which he scored a seventh round KO victory to the delight of his huge fanbase.

Janjanin has shared the ring with fairly unknown opponents, however he did take Martin Murray 8 rounds in 2019 but came off second best. With 29 wins to his name and 23 of those coming by knockout this should be Rivers hardest test to date and a win here for the Coventry man will prove the hype is real.

Exciting Irish welterweight prospect Stevie McKenna will be pursuing a ninth straight knockout win as he challenges Moussa Gary. McKenna has been very vocal on social media in recent days about his desire to fight Conor Benn and fully believes he will get the better of the Welterweight star. Stevie has become much of a fan favourite since his debut as he has demolished all of his eight opponents to date inside the distance. Moussa Gary (11-3-2) is a step up for McKenna but it is a case of how long will the Frenchman last in there with the Irishman.

British Light Heavyweight Shakan Pitters will look to build momentum after his stoppage win over Jermaine Springer last time out in May. Pitters lost a hard fought fight against World title challenger Craig Richards in 2020 and now looks to get back in the mix for titles.

Isaac Chamberlain makes his return to the ring after a long lay off due to an injury forcing him out of action. The exciting cruiserweight has already shared the ring with now World champion Lawrence Okolie and Luke Watkins in the last couple of years and should be aiming for a British title in the not so far future.

Also on the Irelands Brett McGinty will fight Lukas Ulys (0-2). Idris Virgo, Michael Hennessy Jr and Tommy Welch will all feature on the card.
