CPBoxing review of 2021
Well what a year it has been, we've crowned undisputed champions, seen some of the biggest upsets and witnessed a vast amount of show reel knockouts. I'm going to run through my highlights of the year including knockout, fight and fighter of the year.
Fight of the year
4.Sam Eggington vs Bilel Jkitou - an absolutely incredible fight from start to finish, all out action.
3.Ted Cheeseman vs Troy Williamson - Another Ted Cheeseman fight that gets the tip for fight of the year, all out action with a brutal knockout from Williamson to gain the British title.
1.Juan Francisco Estrada vs Roman Gonzalez 2 - Two legends of the sport running back their fight from 2012. The pair are set to meet in 2022 for a third time.
Knockout of the year
5.Mikael Lawal KO over Leonardo Damian - Overhand right from Lawal sent Damian to the canvas.
4.Kiko Martinez KO over Kid Galahad - A shock as well as a brutal KO. Martinez had Galahad down at the end of round 5 and finish the fight with the first punch of the sixth.
3.Troy Williamson KO over Ted Cheeseman - Up there with fight of the year, it also provided a show reel KO win for Williamson.
2.Gabe Rosado vs Bektemir Melikuziev - Rosado was the massive underdog to the then highly promising 'Bully' Melikuziev but an exceptional right hand from Rosado sent his opponent down and out.
1.Callum Smith KO over Lenin Castillo - In his first fight at Light Heavyweight, Smith detonated a brutal right hand that sent Castillo down and in a bad state.
