10. Artur Beterbiev

Coming in at the number 10 spot is unified light heavyweight monster Artur Beterbiev. Scoring an incredible 17 knockouts in his 17 wins ensures his place in the P4P rankings. In 2021, Beterbiev made 2 successful defences of his unified titles. 2022 could see further unification for Beterbiev with Dmitry Bivol and Joe Smith Jr occupying the other world championship belts.

9. Vasily Lomachenko

The matrix himself, fighting out
of the Ukraine, Lomachenko. No boxing fan needs an introduction to the former lightweight king. After losing his unified titles in 2020 to Teofimo Lopez, he bounced back in 2021 with 2 impressive victories over Masayoshi Nakatani and Richard Commney respectively. Loma challenged for the WBO world title in just his second fight, but was unsuccessful in that attempt. He then went on to win the vacant title in his next fight.

8.Roman 'Chocolatito' Gonzalez

Legend of the sport, 'Chocolatito'. Just one fight this year, a sole loss to Juan Francisco Estrada, although many feel the result was unjust with Gonzalez the winner in many people's eyes. The pair will fight for a third time in 2022. Holding a record of 50-3 and will undoubtedly be remembered in decades to come as an all time great.

7.Errol Spence Jr

After a horrific car accident a couple of years ago, Spence returned in late 2020 with no warm up fights and defeated Danny Garcia over 12 rounds. He was also set to fight boxing legend Manny Pacquiao this year, but suffered a torn retina that ruled him out. The American boasts an impressive record in the welterweight division, scoring wins over Kell Brook, Shawn Porter, Danny Garcia and Mikey Garcia. He currently holds the WBC and IBF welterweight titles and many hold him in a higher position with regard to P4P rankings, but due to inactivity he sits in 7th.

6.Tyson Fury

Heavyweight king Tyson Fury ended one of the best heavyweight trilogies of all time when he knocked out Deontay Wilder in round 11 back in October to successfully defend his WBC title. Fury vs Wilder III was a complete heavyweight fight, 4 knockdowns, back and forth edge of your seat action. After making his remarkable comeback in 2018, Tyson remains unbeaten in his 32 fights, with wins over Vladimir Klitschko, Derick Chisora twice and Wilder twice, with only 1 controversial draw that came against Deontay Wilder.

5. Naoya Inoue

'The Monster', a name that Naoya Inoue is living up to, comes on to the list in 5th place. 2021 saw Inoue make two successful defences of his WBA and IBF world bantamweight titles. Boasting a record of 22-0 (19 KO's), Inoue can set further unification as his target in 2022. Nonito Donaire and John Riel Casimero are both titleholders in the bantamweight division.

4.Josh Taylor

Became the first Brit in the four belt era to become an undisputed champion. He defeated Jose Ramirez to add the WBC and WBO titles to his collection. You can't ignore Josh Taylor's achievements. Becoming an undisputed champion in 2021 is an extremely hard feat with many fighters not willing to risk fighting the best. He is only one of six men to have undisputed status in World boxing.

3.Oleksandr Usyk

Claiming third place is former undisputed crusierweight World champion and now unified world heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk. The Ukrainian put on a masterful performance to defeat Anthony Joshua in September to claim the title's and the pair are set to rematch in the spring of next year. Usyk remains undefeated in the professional ranks and now holds a record of 19-0.

2. Terence Crawford

3 weight world champion and undefeated with a record of 38-0. Who can stop Terence 'Bud' Crawford? Many have tried and failed to conquer the American. Most recently, in November, Crawford stopped former World Champion Shawn Porter and subsequently sent him to retirement. 2022 could be the biggest year for Crawford to date, as a potential showdown with Josh Taylor is on the cards. However, the fight that needs to be made is between WBC and IBF champion Errol Spence Jr.

1. Canelo Alvarez

If you ask any boxing fan who the face of boxing is, only one name would come in to that conversation: Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez. 4 weight world champion, the first ever undisputed champion at super middleweight and aiming to become cruiserweight world champion next year. In 2021, the Mexican defeated Anvi Yildirim, Billy Joe Saunders and Caleb Plant. Canelo has won world titles at super welterweight, Middleweight, Super Middleweight and Light heavyweight.

Wins over Sergey Kovalev, Danny Jacobs, Gennadiy Golovkin, Amir Khan and Miguel Cotto cement Canelo as number 1 on the list.
