Anthony Yarde steams towards World Title shot after vicious KO over Lyndon Arthur

Anthony Yarde propelled himself in to pole position for his second World title shot after a fantastic stoppage victory over British rival Lyndon Arthur.

The long awaited rematch, 364 days after their first bout, did not disappoint. Right from the off Yarde pounced on to Arthur as many predicted he would, landing hard and accurate shots at will.

Arthur tried to keep Yarde off with his jab but the 'Beast From The East' wouldn't be denied, when he stunned Arthur in the third and almost a minute in to the fourth Yarde had his man in trouble against the ropes, flurrying with aggressive combinations.Arthur failed to tie up his opponent, leading to Yarde landing a crushing body shot followed by a couple of powerful hooks to send Arthur down to the canvas. Lyndon Arthur failed to beat the count, crowning Anthony Yarde the new Light heavyweight Commonwealth and WBO Inter-Continental champion.

Anthony Yarde will now fight the winner of Joe Smith Jr vs Callum Johnson, who meet next month for the WBO World title according to promoter Frank Warren.

Hamzah Sheeraz scored a controversial win over Bradley Skeete in the co main event last night. Skeete surprised everyone as he boxed his way to a comfortable lead winning the majority of the rounds up until the eighth round when Sheeraz showed his power and sent Skeete to the canvas but hit his opponent twice when he was down resulting in only a one point deduction controversially.

In to round 9 and it was all over for Skeete, as Sheeraz could smell blood. A huge left hook was the start of the end for Skeete who couldn't withstand the wrath of Sheeraz after a frustrating night in the ring for the highly touted prospect.

Dennis McCann scored a shutout victory in an easy nights work to move to 11-0 after he defeated Juan Jurado over eight rounds. McCann suffered a broken knuckle in the victory but never looked in any trouble during the fight and at just 20 years old he has a huge future ahead of him.

George Fox suffered his first defeat of his career against tough Pole Kamil Sokolowski. Fox looked out of his depth and didn't have any answers to the veteran Heavyweight. Sokolowski has been on the end of some poor scorecards over the last couple of year most recently when he fought David Adeleye. Fox now has a record of 4-1 and will need a vast amount of improvements if he is going to return to the ring.

The exciting, fast and ferocious Sam Noakes added another knockout victory to his growing show reel when he stopped Shaun Cooper in 9 rounds. Cooper was a tough opponent for Noakes who had never been past five rounds to this point in his career. Noakes will be looking to have a big 2022 and aim for titles.
