Joseph Parker vs Derek Chisora 2 Preview
Here we go again, Joseph Parker and Derek Chisora will renew their rivalry this Saturday night live on DAZN in front of a packed out Manchester arena.
The two heavyweights fought in an interesting and entertaining battle back in May earlier this year in an unoccupied Manchester Arena, with Parker coming out on top albeit being knocked down in the opening 10 seconds of the bout. Chisora, angered by the result demanded a rematch with the New Zealander.
The questions are being asked of how long veteran Chisora has left in the professional game, at 37 years old and 11 defeats to his name, another unsuccessful outing against Parker could spell the end of his long and absorbing career.
Parker, has shown he has is susceptible to a big punch, being sent to the canvas by Chisora last time out and twice in his firefight with Dillian Whyte, although the New Zealander packs a punch scoring an impressive 21 knockouts in his 29 victories. Chisora will certainly have confidence in the ring knowing he has the power to hurt Parker just like he did in the last fight.
Parker needs to adopt a different game plan from the first fight, he can't afford to get dragged in to a dog fight. Under the guidance of Andy Lee, no doubt Parker will have improved his game compared to recent performances and could argue a case for another World title shot if he is to be successful on Saturday night.
Lerrone Richards challenges IBO World super middleweight champion Carlos Gongora in the co main event. Richards has an excellent boxing IQ and the ability to go with that but hasn't got the most fan friendly of styles. Carlos Gongora won the title exactly a year ago on Saturday, With 15 knockout victories in 20 fights there's no doubt the Colombian has serious power to worry Richards and potentially end his unbeaten run
Gongora has been very vocal in recent times of his desire to fight undisputed super middleweight champion Canelo Alvarez, but the Mexican plans to attack the light heavyweight division which could leave all the belts becoming vacant.
