Josh Taylor vs Jack Catterall Preview

Undisputed super lightweight champion of the world, Josh Taylor (18-0 13 KO's) makes his homecoming this Saturday night as he fights mandatory challenger Jack Catterall (26-0 13 KO's)  at the SSE Hydro in Glasgow. The fight was originally scheduled to take place in October last year but Taylor suffered an injury forcing the contest to be postponed.

A perfect unblemished career to date for 'The Tartan Tornado' 18 fights 18 wins and the Scotsman has captured every world honour out there and is targeting a fight with America's Terence Crawford but a potential roadblock could stop that from happening and that's Jack Catterall.

Remarkably Taylor has been crowned Undisputed champion in just 18 fights winning every title possible in his division, a feat only achieved by a select few elite fighters. Last time out in Vegas, Taylor collected the WBC and WBO to round of his collection as he beat Jose Ramirez dropping him twice on his way to a unanimous victory.

"He's a good fighter, I've got a lot of respect for Jack. But he will come up short. He will taste his first defeat as a professional. He's a good fighter. He just isn't as good as I am." Said Taylor.

Undefeated, somewhat untested and to a few fairly unknown. Jack Catterall fights out of Chorley, Lancashire has amassed an impressive record of 26-0 so far in his career, yet to suffer defeat he has every reason to be confident in this all British battle.

'El Gato' Jack Catterall will walk in to a hostile crowd of 13,000 Taylor fans on Saturday night but only has victory on his mind. Although he has never competed anywhere near the level of his Scottish opponent, Catterall has picked up some impressive wins in his career. A unanimous decision victory over Ohara Davies back in 2018, an impressive victory against Tyrone McKenna in the same year and another points victory in 2017 this time over Tyrone Nurse.

"I beat Josh by listening to instructions, doing the stuff that we've worked on since the very start of my career" Said Jack ahead of his fight with Josh Taylor this weekend.
