Should Katie Taylor Retire or fight again?
One of the greatest Irish athletes of all time, Katie Taylor, successfully defended her undisputed crown against Amanda Serrano on Saturday night, in-front of a packed out Madison Square Garden, cementing herself as the best female fighter of all time.
The Irish superstar had a stellar amateur career before he sensational professional journey. She won an incredible 18 gold medals in amateur boxing, including a gold medal at the London Olympic Games in 2012 and became a 5 time winner in the World Championships.
Taylor had all the ingredients to become a global figure in woman's boxing, something that promoter Eddie Hearn had his sight on.
From her debut on November 26th in 2016, she had an outstanding run of 21 straight victories picking up her maiden world title in just her seventh fight when she won the WBA Lightweight title. She then went on to unify the division, claiming the IBF and WBO titles. In 2019 she captured the Undisputed Lightweight crown as she defeated Delfine Persoon at Madison Square Garden.
Katie has several options after he historic fight with Serrano.

Eddie Hearn has stated his desire to stage a homecoming for Katie Taylor at Croke Park, Dublin. The 82,000 seater stadium is a venue fit for a pound for pound star in the female game and Hearn is confident it would sell out the stadium.
Taylor has already stated she would like the fight at Croke Park, If you think the atmosphere was special here, imagine the rematch in front of 80,000 people in Croke Park. It would be absolutely nothing."
It is unclear whether Ireland would even be able to host to fight, after a fatal shooting in 2016 at a boxing weigh-in in the Regency Hotel, which could scupper the plans.Retire?
Katie Taylor has achieved everything in the sport to date, Undisputed Lightweight Champion and two time world champion, with an array of amateur medals to add to her accolades.
Does she really need another fight at the age of 35 and risk her health or could Taylor set off in to the sunset and live the life she has earned?
