Joe Joyce triumphs over Joseph Parker to set up World title shot
Joe Joyce emphatically knocked out Joseph Parker in an action packed main event to extend his unbeaten run and direct his attention to a world title shot next year.
In an immense main event the two heavyweights slugged it out over 11 rounds before the stoppage. The 'Juggernaut' Joyce, walked down Parker over the rounds, sustaining his constant pressure forcing him to tire and eventually be toppled by a monstrous left hook that sent Parker to the canvas.
Joe Joyce has always been known for his granite chin and last night he proved that once again, by taking a huge accumaliton of shots from the New Zealander that would topple the majority of heavyweights out there.
Now with an impressive record of 15-0 14KOs, Joyce's record is getting ever stronger adding Joseph Parker to the list of fighters he has defeat along with Daniel Dubois, Carlos Takam and Bryant Jennings.
Although it was defeat for Parker, he showed his remarkable toughness as a fighter and managed to absorb the pressure for 11 rounds until one shot from Joyce finished it all. No heavyweight before has dismantled Parker in the way Joyce did, including Anthony Joshua, Dillian Whyte and Andy Ruiz.
Following the victory for Joyce and the capturing of the WBO Interim title he called out WBO world title holder Oleksandr Usyk, "I'm very feel," he said, "Let's get it on!"
Amanda Serrano added the IBF world title to her fetaherweight collection as she boxed her way to an unanimous points victory against Sarah Mafoud in the co main event. Serran now holds the IBF, WBO & WBA title at featherweight and hopes to add the WBC title before a rematch with Katie Taylor.
"I want the last piece of the puzzle to become undisputed then I want the rematch with Katie Taylor," she said.
